What a cool little truck! This beautiful ’66 El Camino was delivered to Guy Faught Chevrolet in Mesquite, Nevada, on November 1, 1965, and then transferred 40 miles north to Adams-Pendleton Chevrolet here in St. George, Utah, where its first owner took delivery. Since that day, it has never left super-dry Southern Utah, which is readily apparent by its 100% rust-free body. The original owner was smart enough to keep all of the important original documentation, including the original Protecto-Plate, which shows what the original factory colors were, and most importantly, the stamp codes for the motor, transmission, and the rear axle. It was absolutely the perfect example for a cosmetic restoration, as the truck was in excellent original condition to start with.Earlier this year, she went in for a full repaint in its factory original shade of Artesian Turquoise Metallic (Code K), and all of the chrome, grille, and stainless-steel trim was completely restored. All of the emblems, T3 headlights, tailights, light fixtures, weatherstripping, etc., are all brand new. As I previously stated, minimal body-work was needed as the body was completely rust-free and in wonderful original condition. She sits on the original 14” steel wheels w/ dog-dish hubcaps caps w/ the Bowtie logo, which are brand new as well. She sits just right, and looks perfect from every angle.Open the driver’s door and you will find a beautiful Medium Fawn/Light Fawn two-tone interior (Code 710-A), which is factory correct for this truck. Please look closely at the photos to see how beautiful this interior truly is.When you walk up front and pop open the hood, you will find the factory original numbers-matching 327ci/275hp engine lathered in Chevy orange paint w/ correct GM components throughout the beautifully detailed engine bay. The original engine pad stamp (F1013EA) denotes the production plant (F) for Flint, Michigan, w/ the correct ‘EA’ suffix code (327/275hp w/ Manual Transmission), which matches the original Protecto-Plate, and shows a build date of October 13, 1965. The motor is linked to the original numbers-matching Muncie M20 4-Speed transmission, which is stamped w/ Muncie code P01011, which matches the original Protecto-Plate, w/ a build date of October 11, 1965. Power is transferred to the original numbers-matching rear axle, stamped CB1004, which matches the original Protecto-Plate, and denotes the 3.36 gear ratio, w/ a build date of October 4, 1965. She fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives and performs beautifully in every way. This little pickup is an absolute blast to drive, and there are absolutely no squeaks, rattles, or unwanted noises whatsoever. The original 327ci motor has more than enough power & torque to put a huge smile on your face, and the Muncie 4-speed shifts smooth & precise, just the way they should. The new owner will get all of the original documentation from the original owner, which includes: original warranty booklet w/ the original Protecto-Plate, original Owner’s Manual in its original plastic sleeve, original Dealership Sales Invoice from November 1, 1965, original Pre-Delivery Inspection Sheet, original Loan Documents from Financing, original 1966 Chevrolet Accessories Booklet, and (12) original registration slips from previous years. About Red Hills Rods and Classics
'RED HILLS RODS & CLASSICS' specializes in rare Classic Cars, Muscle Cars & Hot Rods.
Based in Saint George, Utah, R.H.R.C. was founded by Steven Ray Anastos after he relocated to Southern Utah from Southern California. Steven had mainly been dealing in high-end Mopar Muscle Cars in California since 2003, where he did business under the name 'Steve’s Killer Bees'. The stunning landscape, beautiful weather, & open roads make Southern Utah the perfect place for such a business. The area was starving for a taste of the Hot Rod Kulture and R.H.R.C. has become the premiere Classic Car dealership in Southern Utah! Other retail items include: Helmets, Goggles, Sunglasses, Hats, Beanies, Jewelry, DVD’s, Books and Hot Rod Collectibles such as Rat Fink, Clay Smith and Mooneyes. They also market their own line of R.H.R.C. apparel. Much of their business has been and will continue to be internet-based, especially the sale of their high-end Classic Cars & Hot Rods.
