It shows a male and female rooster with their baby chick set against a pale blue to gray background. The border is made up of black, gray, and pale pink leaves against a darker gray ground. At lower right is the familiar gourd shaped signature symbol of Kawade Shibataro. Shibataro intitially worked for the Ando Jubei cloisonne company and later became the head designer there. The wirework is incredibly detailed in the feathers, with beautiful wireless trasition in the red rooster combs. Reverse has 4 vignettes set against a pale blue background. The black vignette contains a six character mark. A very rare and beautiful piece of cloisonne worthy of any collection. Does have an area of enamel loss on back edge. Most if not all of the pieces are included. Please see pic. Also a slight diagonal stress fracture to upper left of the roosters.
